Trango Alpine Equalizer (Spring 2008) Trango Alpine Equalizer (Spring 2008)
Trango
The new Alpine Equalizer by Trango is the perfect solution for quickly equalizing up to three placements. Based on the R&D work done by Jim Cormier at Cormier Mountaineering - we've updated it - lightened it and adapted it to work great in any setting. Use it on ice or in the alpine for a speedy anchor - carry it on multi-pitch bolt routes for a quick anchor at the belays or use it as a super long runner. While ideally suited as a self-adjusting anchor system - it can be made non-extending by tying an overhand knot in the center loop (shown) or by clove-hitching at each protection point. Available in 2 lengths; the 6’ version is ideal for most 3-anchor set-ups while the 3’ foot one saves weight and bulk and can be extended with runners or draws.SpecificationsStrength: 25kN Weight: 3’ - 74gm (2.7 oz)

Trango B-52 Belay Device (Spring 2008) Trango B-52 Belay Device (Spring 2008)
Trango
The B-52 Belay Device by Trango has been recently updated. The B-52 is the first belay device designed from a total performance point-of-view and with the refinements we've made recently - its even better. We've beefed up the small end of the device or added durability and subtly rounded the edges and curves making it even smoother to operate.Rappelling with the B-52 is a thing of beauty. We've all gotten used to the jerky-at-the top/terrifying-at-the-bottom rappel sequence offered up by most belay/rappel devices. The B-52 changes all that with extremely smooth starts and controlled descents all the way down. For advanced climbers and guides doing multi-pitch routes - the B-52 can be used as an in.autobloc in. device that will lock the rope automatically when the leader is belaying one or two seconds. In a pinch - the B-52 can be used as an emergency ascender.Features: Positive stop with a wide variety of rope diameters Lightweight Emergency ascender Blissfully smooth rappels with all your different ropes Autobloc Easy to rig

Trango Ball Nutz Protection (Spring 2008) Trango Ball Nutz Protection (Spring 2008)
Trango
Ball Nutz by Trango are thin crack protection at its finest. Using a sliding ball/ramp concept - Ball Nutz will protect parallel sided cracks - flares - pin scars and bombays from 3 mm to 16 mm. The three smallest sizes have a 2:1 expansion range - resulting in unmatched security in chossy rock or expanding flakes. The # 4 and # 5 sizes will make you wonder why you ever used tiny cams. While these units are excellent for clean aid (they were even used for the first clean ascent of the Shield) - they're also terrific for protecting free climbs. Because of the stiff cable - we recommend using a quick draw whenever Ball Nutz are used to protect free climbing. Specifications: Trango Ball Nutz # 1: Size Range: 3.0 - 6.0 mm (0.12 - 0.24 in) Weight: 29.0 gm (1.0 oz) Strength: 4.5 kN Color: Blue Trango Ball Nutz # 2: Size Range: 4.5 - 9.0 mm (0.18 - 0.35 in) Weight: 39.0 gm (1.4 oz) Strength: 8 kN Color: Red Trango Ball Nutz # 3: Size Range: 6.0 - 12.0 mm (0.24 - 0.47 in) Weight: 48.0 gm (1.7 oz) Strength: 8 kN Color: Gold Trango Ball Nutz # 4: Size Range: 9.0 - 13.0 mm (0.35 - 0.51 in) Weight: 61.0 gm (2.2 oz) Strength: 8 kN Color: Green Trango Ball Nutz # 5: Size Range: 11.0 - 15.0 mm (0.43 - 0.59 in) Weight: 71.0 gm (2.5 oz) Strength: 8 kN Color: Purple

Trango Big Bros (Spring 2008) Trango Big Bros (Spring 2008)
Trango
The Big Bros by Trango are the biggest - lightest wide crack protection on the planet. Named after George Orwell's book - 1984 - in reference to Big Brother watching - Big Bros were designed by Craig Luebben as his Senior Design Project while an engineering student at CSU. Watch him stringing a line of these and you'll never even know he's not plugging cams. Big Bros are happiest when placed in parallel sided cracks (think Utah sandstone) but - with practice - you can find secure - one-handed placements in a variety of crack geometries. The #5 Big Bro will protect up to an 18 in. splitter and the smaller sizes are great lightweight replacements for your fist-sized cams.

Trango Cinch Belay Device (Spring 2008) Trango Cinch Belay Device (Spring 2008)
Trango
The Cinch Belay Device by Trango is the latest in a long line of innovative belay devices introduced by Trango. We designed it with an eye for function - aesthetics and simplicity (It’s about as complicated as a door hinge.) so it offers up a secure belay for UIAA/CE certified single ropes. On smaller diameter ropes - or when holding falls that generate extremely high loads (In excess of factor 1) the Cinch acts dynamically - reducing shock loads to the belay system. In addition it will release easily and modulate fluidly while you’re rappelling or lowering off. The Cinch feeds rope easier than any other device - fits nicely in your hand and weighs 182gm.
